Whimsical Girls Cards + Featured On: Nathalie Kalbach’s Blog!

by Crafts / DIY, Mixed-Media Art, Paper Crafting

I was featured on Nathalie Kalbach’s blog! This post is long overdue, but I wanted to take a moment to share my Whimsical Girls collection of cards that I made for this blog feature.

Supplies List:

Instructions:

Apply embossing ink through the Art Deco Wallpaper stencil with a makeup sponge and sprinkle with pink embossing powder.

Trim out each fan shape and pleat at the top. Set on a blank piece of white cardstock. Sketch out the basic form of a girl onto the cardstock around the skirt shape. I sketched these girls with a China Marker

Note: just keep everything loose as you are sketching. For these girls, I was inspired by Danielle Donaldson and a tutorial by Cynthia Shaffer. These girls have a small boxy shape for the body, then long, noodle-y arms and legs. Keep your shapes simple and free flowing. Add some chalk color by scribbling a bit of color and blending it with your finger.

Glue down dresden trim with mixed-media adhesive and glue down skirt shape with adhesive or dimensional dots.

Add embellishments like flower diecuts or bows to the hair and waist to complete.
