About Me
I am Sarah Donawerth, artist. I have experience in knitting, crochet, jewelry making, paper crafting, and mixed-media artwork. I also have an MFA in Creative Writing and started this blog to provide an inside look at the creative life.
On the weekends, I like to watch old movies and curl up with a nice ball of yarn. I’m a fan of Jane Austen, craft stores, and Christmas fudge.
I also do freelance writing and marketing work. For more information, contact me at [email protected].

I heard enough people tell me they’re “not creative” that I knew I had to fix that.
Everyone is creative. You just have to find your art.
I believe that…
- Everyone is creative
- Art is expressive
- Even when you’re copying or following steps, the act of creativity will eventually lead you somewhere new
- When someone says they’re “not creative” it’s because they haven’t found what they’re passionate about yet or they’ve been discouraged in the past
- Creating can soothe the soul
Sarah Donawerth is an accomplished artist celebrated for her loose, painterly style in acrylic painting. Her artist journey encompasses a diverse range of subjects, primarily portraiture, but also abstract compositions and still lifes. She draws on her diverse experiences as an Artist-in-Residence for Stampington & Company and a multi-discipline instructor at Michaels to incorporate unconventional mediums and techniques into her artwork. She has given a TEDx talk, entitled “Artist with a Day Job,” and offers art courses online, including “Find Your Inner Rosie,” which guides participants through painting their own “Rosie the Riveter” artwork while exploring color theory and the history behind the iconic poster.
