Free Crochet Fox Pattern: What Does the Fox Say? Amigurumi!

by Crafts / DIY, Yarn

This darling crochet fox was a birthday present for my friend’s one-year-old. His nursery is woodland-themed and I thought this cute little fox would be the perfect addition. This free crochet fox pattern is a Beginner+ level pattern and uses entirely single crochet in the round with increases and decreases to create shaping.

Supplies:

Free Crochet Fox Pattern Instructions:

Create muzzle, 2 eyes, Stomach, 2 ears (white), 2 ears (orange), 2 arms, and 2 legs before beginning head and body.

Arms and Legs (create 4)

Start with soft white yarn.

2= *inc* around

3-4= *sc* around

Switch to orange yarn in last stitch of previous round.

2= *inc* across

3= Ch 1, turn, inc, sc to end

Attach white circles for eyes to head, and attach large safety eyes through center of these white circles.

16= *5sc, 1dec* around

17= *4sc, 1dec* around

18= *3sc, 1dec* around

Stuff muzzle and attach to face with top of muzzle at color change.

19= *2sc, 1dec* around

20= *1sc, 1dec* around

29= sc around

30= *6sc, 1inc*

31-33= sc around

Stuff arms and legs lightly and sew to body. (Note: I did not stuff the arms so that they would move better. This also adds contrast between the leg shape and the arms. The legs are attached to the front of the body and the arms are attached at the sides of the body.)

Stuff entire body and head, then gradually add more stuffing as needed while decreasing.

34= *6sc, 1dec* around

35=*5sc, 1dec* around

36= *4sc, 1dec* around

37= *3sc, 1dec* around

38= *2sc, 1dec* around

39= *1sc, 1dec* around

40= dec every stitch until 1 stitch remains, then fasten off.
