Dapper Day at the Disneyland Resort is just a few days away! For those of you who don’t know about Dapper Day, it is the day that you can get really dressed up (usually in vintage style clothing) and go to Disneyland in style! It is amazingly fun to watch what everyone else comes up with for their outfit, and to dress up for a day of fun.
If you’d like to participate in Dapper Day events, you can get complete details here.
For this post, I’ll be breaking down some of my favorite outfits from past Dapper Days, and giving some recommendations on where to start for creating a Dapper Day outfit of your very own! Continue reading →
Happy Halloween! I know this is a little late-coming, but I hope you all enjoy this year’s Halloween costume — Ursula! I made the tentacles and hand-painted the dress, as well as creating the tiara (more on the mermaid crown to come!).
The Little Mermaid is my favorite movie of all time. It has amazing music, a brilliant aesthetic, and plenty of Disney magic. So this year, I decided to be Ursula and add some punk rock vibes to her normal octopus look. Here’s how I did it. Continue reading →
I have always loved Mary Poppins white and red dress from the movie. It’s iconic and beautifully accented with pops of red. I have been hunting for a dress that would be passable for a Halloween costume forever, but Etsy sellers charge over $500 for a single dress — yikes!

So, for Star Wars Day I knew I had to do something to celebrate my love of the movies. Last year, I did a knitting pattern for an ewok hoodie and I’ve also transformed little Casper into a Darth Vader-loving, sweater-wearing heartthrob, but this year it is all about the light sabers.
This light saber case can be used for anything, but I thought it would work well for crochet afghan hooks and knitting needles. I have also provided the details needed to adapt the pattern into a plush toy that can be stuffed. Continue reading →

I’ve been trying to find a dog sweater for Casper since Thanksgiving and nothing I could find fit him or looked cute enough. While Christmas shopping, I bought this ugly sweater Star Wars beanie as an impulse purchase. It was way too small for my head, but I just couldn’t resist. It sat in my room for a month while I debated what to do with it. Then I realized it would fit Casper better than myself. Continue reading →
